Read on further to know the highlights and recap of the second episode of It: Welcome to Derry.
The second episode of It: Welcome to Derry dropped two days prior to its schedule, to entertain fans in time for Halloween. In India, you can watch the show on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium.

The last episode ended on a brutal note where Phil, Lilly, Teddy and Sussie were at the Capitol Theatre to check on the disappearance of Matty. With the help of Ronnie, Phil, Lilly, Teddy and Sussie were watching the film that Matty watched before being chased away from the theatre. But what the episode saw was the brutal attack by the mutant baby onscreen killing Phil, Teddy and Sussie, as Lilly and Ronnie escaped.
The second episode, The Thing in Dark, has the Derry cops investigate Hank Grogon, the projectionist at the theatre, while inspector Hanlon has his own suspicions on Soviet spies. After the first episode gave us chills in the form of informing us of the lanterns made of human skin, this time we have Ronnie being subjected to some bed horror after her bedsheet transforms into a claustrophobic trap, and as she claws her way out, she is met with her dead mother's face. We also get to see the police chief, Clin Bowers, establishing a link with It's Henry Bowers (probably his grandfather?), and the first appearance of Leroy's wife Charlotte who, while coming on the streets of Derry, try to solve a scuffle only to be looked down upon by the passers-by, who frown upon her empathy. Meanwhile, General Shaw also conveys it to Leroy about something detrimental buried under Derry, which can pose a dangerous weapon to the town folks. The unknown entity is not revealed much, but said to feed on fear, and we absolutely try not to think of Pennywise.

The episode reserves its true horror for Lilly, as if she had not already witnessed her friends being mauled by a mutant baby. Towards the episode's finale, Lilly, who is out there doing grocery shopping at Derry story, begins to get a gist of what is going to happen next to her. After seeing visions of Pennywise Corn Flaxes and faces of Matty, Sussie, Phil and Teds as cover models too. But the real horror lies when Lilly gets trapped in a square-shaped aisle with pickle jars. The next sequence, which blends gore and trauma, evokes Lilly's trauma with pickles, as she sees a messy, gooey face inside one of the pickle jars, resembling her father. The jar begins to come to life, as it breaks and the gooey creature makes its way towards a frightened Lilly who is now on the floor covered with pickles and broken jars. However, she soon seemed to be freed from the horror, as she is seen crying and traumatised, sitting on the shop floor
