IT: Welcome to Derry plot

IT: Welcome to Derry is a prequel series to the IT films. It explores the origins of Pennywise and the town's history. The story centres on a few characters from 1962, including the newly arrived Hanlon family and four friends who are trying to solve a series of disappearances. 

It follows the story of the newly arrived Hanlon family and a group of young friends who are drawn into investigating the pattern of child disappearances in Derry. Major Leroy Hanlon moves to Derry with his wife Charlotte and son Will, and they discover the town's dark secrets.

A group of friends, including Will Hanlon and another boy named Rich, work to uncover the truth behind the disappearances, which leads them to supernatural entities.

This story combines two timelines to reveal the origins of the terror that has plagued Derry for generations.

The cast members include Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as Pennywise, Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, and James Remar. The series features themes of fear, the cyclical nature of evil, loss, and social injustice.
