It’s a wrap on Rishi and Pranitha Subhash starrer comedy caper, Ramana Avatara

Kannada actor Rishi, it would seem has found his groove in comedy. The actor, who debuted as a lead hero with the comedy thriller Operation Alamelamma, has also done Sarvajanikarige Suvarnavakaasha in the comedy genre. Among his upcoming films, Ramana Avatara and Nodi Swamy Ivanu Irode Heege, are also comedies, while Sakalakala Vallabhan is a rom-com.

Ramana Avatara, which pairs Rishi with Pranitha Subhash and has Raj B Shetty and Danish Sait in pivotal roles, was in production prior to the pandemic and the team has finally managed to wrap it up. Rishi shared a picture with the team of the film to announce its completion. ““#RamanaAvatara shoot wrap up. The most fun film that I have shot. Will talk more about the film soon. Love and gratitude,” he wrote.

For Pranitha, who was last seen in Kannada in 2017’s Mass Leader and has since forayed into Bollywood with Hungama 2 and Bhuj: The Pride of India, Ramana Avatara will be her first tryst with the comedy genre in Sandalwood. The actress, who has mostly done hardcore commercial films, believes that being part of new-age innovative cinema will lend a different dimension to her career graph.

The film, which has music by Judah Sandhy, also stars Raj B Shetty, Danish Sait and Shubra Aiyappa in pivotal roles. Rishi plays Rama in the while, while Danish is Sunny Prasad and Raj is Alexander in this comedy. Ramana Avatara is a Starfab production in association with Team Naati Factory.

Rishi’s next releases, though, will be Nodi Swamy Ivanu Irode Heege, which is getting a Telugu outing too, as well as Sakalakala Vallabhan. While he is paired with his Sarvajanikarike co-star Dhanya Balakrishan in Nodi Swamy… Sakalakala… was Reeba John’s first Kannada film, although Rathnan Prapancha came out earlier.
