It's time for the clash of brothers as Dhanush's Vaathi and Selvaraghavan's Bakasuran gear up to hit screens on February 17. The team of Bakasuran recently announced that the film, helmed by Mohan G, will release next month, on the same day as Dhanush's Vaathi. This is the first time that the brothers will clash at the box office.

Selvaraghavan has been testing waters in acting off late, after his performance in films like Beast and Saani Kaayidham, was raved by everyone. Bakasuran is his fourth film. Selvaraghavan is said to be playing a badass character in the crime thriller, which also stars Natty, Rajan K, Rams and Saravanan Subbiah. Going by the teaser, it seems like Selva's character is on a mission to seek revenge. The film has been produced under the banner of GM Film Corporation.

Interestingly, Dhanush's latest release at the box office was Naane Varuvean, which was helmed by Selvaraghavan. The film, which had Dhanush in dual roles, opened to mixed reviews at the box office. Selvaraghavan played a cameo in the film. Naane Varuven marked the reunion of Dhanush and Selvaraghavan after a span of a decade. The last time the duo had worked together was in Mayakkam Enna (2011).

Dhanush's Vaathi, on the other hand, has the actor playing a teacher, who is on a mission to reform the education system. The film, directed by Venky Atluri, has Samyuktha Menon playing the leading lady. GV Prakash has scored the music. The film is bilingual and it has been named Sir in Telugu. Both films will have a simultaneous release.  Vaathi is bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.

Dhanush, in the meantime, is shooting for Captain Miller, directed by Arun Matheswaran. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sundeep Kishan and John Kokken.
