​It's official! Silambarasan TR's gangster saga Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is all set to have its digital premiere on October 13 on Amazon Prime Video. The OTT giant made the official announcement on its social media handle, shared a poster from the film, and captioned it, "take an unvarnished look at the gangster world #VendhuThanindhathuKaaduOnPrime, Oct 13 (sic)."


It was not long ago there was a buzz that the film will have its O​​TT debut around Diwali. Though the exact release date was not announced, it was almost confirmed that the film will be released soon on OTT. Fans of the actor are an excited lot. The film hit screens worldwide in theatres on September 15 and after the mandatory four-week run in theatres, is finally set to release once again.


The film, directed by Gautham Menon, has Silambarasan playing a gangster. The film is a duology and will be released in two parts. The first part is titled Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling. The film marks the Tamil debut of Siddhi Idnani. The film's plot penned by writer B Jeyamohan, revolves around the rise of Muthu, a youngster from a small-town, who goes on to become a huge don after getting involved in the Mumbai underworld. Silambarasan lost oodles of weight for the film and his transformation shocked his fans who went gaga over his new look. The star cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav, Siddique, Delhi Ganesh and Appukutty to name a few.

Music for the film is by AR Rahman,cinematography is by Siddhartha Nuni and editing is by Anthony. The action entertainer has been bankrolled by Ishari Ganesh's Vels Film International. The film was declared a hit at the box office and the producers gifted Simbu a luxury car and Gautham Menon a superbike at the success meet.
