The film stars Vishnu Vishal as a wrestler and has Aishwarya Lekshmi as the leading lady
With just a few days to go for the release of Vishnu Vishal's next outing Gatta Kusthi, the latest we hear is that Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. Gatta Kusthi, which will be simultaneously released in Telugu as Matti Kusthi, is all set to hit screens on December 2. The film, directed by Chella Ayyavu, is a sports drama and will have Vishnu Vishal playing a wrestler and we hear that the plot revolves around submission wrestling. Aishwarya Lekshmi will play the leading lady and the supporting cast includes Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Redin Kingsley, Ajay, Sreeja Ravi and Shatru.
Vishnu had called this his biggest film till date and had written on his social media handle, "My biggest film till date coming in a big way #GattaKusthi #MattiKusthi in theatres on the 2nd of December, 2022 (sic)." The trailer of the film, too, has been well received by everyone and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's production house, too, had shared the same. It is to be noted that Aamir Khan had earlier played a wrestler in Dangal. Vishnu had then taken to his social media handle to thank the actor. He wrote, "Cant be thankul enough for all that is happening…Thank you Aamir Khan sir for personally liking the trailer and sharing it on your production house page…This means the world to me..#dreamscometrue My idol #AamirKhan:) #MattiKusthiTrailer #GattaKusthiTrailer (sic)."
The promotions for the film have been in full swing and Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi have been touring the southern cities as part of the promotions. The pre-release event was held in Hyderabad yesterday and popular Tollywood star Ravi Teja, too, had attended the same.
Gatta Kusthi has music by Justin Prabahakaran, cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Prasanna GK. The film has been bankrolled by RT Team Works and Vishnu Vishal Studioz and is being distributed by Red Giant Movies.
