It's showtime! Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh come together to announce Sooryavanshi release date

Theatres are back and among the first ones to rejoice in the news are the makers of Sooryavanshi. Now, Akshay Kumar, the lead actor of the Rohit Shetty film along with Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh announced the confirmed release date of the film. They shot a video inside an empty theatre talking about how people can finally come together to watch a movie that millions have been missing due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

Sooryavanshi is set to hit the big screens on November 5, 2021, after a delay of more than a year. While sharing the video, Akshay captioned it on his social media pages, "Interval hua khatam, now it’s showtime! #Sooryavanshi releasing this Diwali, 5th November at a cinema near you. Come celebrate with us. #BackToCinemas."

While Rohit wrote, "Now it's not about my film or your film, it's about our film industry, our theatres and our audience. Let's come together for the magic of cinema."

Sooryavanshi also features Katrina Kaif as the female lead. The film is a part of Rohit Shetty's cop universe after Singham played by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba. Thus, the two actors will be joining Akshay and Katrina in Sooryavanshi for an important sequence, much to the excitement of the fans. 

The cop drama also features Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Vivan Bhatena, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer and Jaaved Jaaferi in supporting roles. 

Theatres are reopening in Maharashtra from October 22, 2021. Thus, many filmmakers announced the release dates of the films which have been delayed more than a year owing to the pandemic. 

Sooryavanshi was set for a theatrical release on March 24, 2020, but just ahead of its release, coronavirus lockdown was imposed in the country. Earlier this year, the makers had announced that the film will hit the big screens on April 30, 2021. But once again the film got delayed due to the second wave of COVID-19.
