The actor has begun the shoot of his next, helmed by Arumugakumar

It was a sea of fans in Malaysia as they had thronged in large numbers to get a glimpse of their favourite actor, Vijay Sethupathi. The film is billed as the 51st project of the actor, which is helmed by Arumugakumar.
The shoot for the untitled film began in Malaysia today and fans swarmed the shooting spot, despite the heavy security. Vijay Sethupathi, who shares a great rapport with his fans, not only waved at them, but also got a few pictures clicked with those waiting for him.
A video of the same was shared on social media handle today along with the caption, "Sea of love! Fans, cutting across borders, continue to pour their love out for #MakkalSelvan @VijaySethuOffl! Here's a clip & pictures showing fans expressing their love for him in Malaysia where he is currently shooting for his 51st film. #Vijaysethupathi51 (sic)."
In the meantime, his maiden feature film in Hindi, Mumbaikar, is currently streaming on Jio Cinema. The film is a remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's debut film, Maanagaram (2017). The Hindi version has been lying in the cans for a while now and finally released directly on OTT on June 2.
Mumbaikar is helmed by Santosh Sivan, and the star cast includes Vijay Sethupathi, Vikrant Massey, Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, Sachin Khedekar, Tanya Maniktala and Hridhu Haroon. The film opened to negative reviews and many called it a poor remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil film.
The actor is also awaiting the release of Atlee's Jawan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra and Yogi Babu to name a few. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander. The film marks the debut of Atlee, Nayanthara and Anirudh in the Hindi film industry. Jawan is gearing up to hit screens on September 7.
Vijay Sethupathi also has Merry Christmas in which he will share screen space with Katrina Kaif. The film is directed by Sriram Raghavan.
