Iyer in Arabia OTT release date: When and where to watch Dhyan Sreenivasan's dramedy online

Malayalam film, Iyer in Arabia, is all set to make its digital debut a year after its theatrical release. The comedy drama, which stars Dhyan Sreenivasan, Urvashi and Mukesh in lead roles, will be available on Sun NXT soon.

The film, which is directed by M A Nishad, will be available to stream on Sun NXT from May 16 at 12 am. Recent Malayalam films which made it to the same platform includes Am Ah, Swa rgam and Kudumba Sthreeyum Kunjadum. 

Iyer in Arabia received mixed response in theatre

The main character of the movie is Sreenivasa Iyer, a retired government worker who is encouraged to maintain his conventional mentality by his group of "wrong" friends. His traditional outlook causes tension in his relationships with his wife, Jhansi Rani, and son, Rahul Iyer. However, their lives take an amusing turn when Rahul relocates to Dubai and begins dating a young woman of different religion.

Iyer in Arabia is a family entertainer that takes a jab at a number of contemporary topics, including the generational divide and moral policing masquerading as religion, according to OTTplay's review. The performances of Urvashi and Mukesh are compelling and steal the show. They surely evoke recollections of the hilarious characters they portrayed in their previous films, which were Malayali's favourite. Mukesh is ideal as Sreenivasa Iyer because of his nuanced portrayal, which stays away from overdoing the humour while still giving him the ideal amount of emotional depth.

Significant parts of the film are played by Shine Tom Chacko, Durga Krishna, Sudheer Karamana, Maniyanpillai Raju, Sunil Sukhada, Jaffer Idukki, Uma Nair, Divya M Nair, Prajod Kalabhavan, and Biju Sopanam. The film was produced by Vignesh Vijayakumar under the auspices of Wealth i Productions. Vishesham fame Anand Madhusoodanan has composed the soundtracks and background score for this movie.
