Jaat box office collection day 3: Sunny Deol returned to the big screen this week after making his fans wait for two years since the release of the monstrously successful Gadar 2. That sequel, which shattered box office records, reestablished Deol as one of the most bankable stars in the industry. Riding high on that success, director Gopichand Malineni and the producers confidently mounted a Pan India movie on his shoulders — a major move that birthed Jaat, one of the most anticipated films of the year. However, the excitement didn’t fully translate at the box office, even with the movie released on a Thursday. With the weekend underway, hopes were pinned on Saturday — and the numbers are in, showing only a minimal spike.

Jaat Box Office Update

After Jaat collected single-digit figures on both Day 1 and Day 2, all eyes turned to the weekend to see if the film could gain traction. On its first Saturday, Day 3, everyone was curious to see what kind of jump the film would make. It turns out, while the movie has finally crossed into double digits, the rise is modest and far from the blockbuster expectations for a Sunny Deol starrer — especially one following the massive success of Gadar 2

According to Sacnilk, Jaat earned ₹10 crore on Day 3 at the domestic box office. Though it marks the film’s first double-digit day, the figure is still at the lower end and doesn’t meet initial estimates. This brings the total box office collection of Jaat to ₹26.50 crore. On Saturday, the film recorded a 16.70% Hindi occupancy. Mornings were slow, but there was a slight improvement in the afternoon and evening. The night shows of the Ghayal star-led film witnessed the highest footfall.

About Jaat

Jaat features a stellar cast including Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, and others in pivotal roles. The film is backed by leading production houses, Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory. The music is composed by the sensational Thaman S, with Rishi Punjabi serving as the cinematographer, Navin Nooli as the editor, and Avinash Kolla handling production design. The film received a U/A certificate and reportedly underwent 22 cuts in total.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers had to make several edits to gain clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Multiple strong words were either swapped out entirely or replaced with milder alternatives. For example, one expletive was replaced with "Mad*rjaat", while others were toned down to terms like Nikamma and Besharmo.

In total, the film went through a 2-minute and 6-second reduction, with 1 minute and 37 seconds of additional content added. The final runtime of Jaat is now 2 hours, 33 minutes, and 31 seconds. The film was released in theatres on April 10, 2025.
