Siddhu Jonnalagadda became a sensation of sorts after the release of DJ Tillu. With Tillu Square, he rose to star status and signed back-to-back films. One of them was Jack, directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. BVSN Prasad, of Tholi Prema fame, produced the film on a massive scale. Unfortunately, Jack ended up as a huge flop at the box office.
Jack was pulled out of theaters within just three days of its release, shocking trade experts. As Siddhu’s popularity had skyrocketed, he reportedly demanded a high remuneration, and the makers paid him close to Rs 20 crore. However, due to the film’s poor performance and the heavy losses incurred, the Krishna and His Leela actor returned part of his remuneration to the producers.
A source close to the production team revealed that Siddhu returned a whopping Rs 4 crore to BVSN Prasad to help cover the losses. This heartwarming gesture showcases Siddhu's reputation as a producer-friendly actor. In today's industry, where few actors return money when a film flops, Siddhu joins the ranks of rare stars like Rajinikanth who step forward to support their producers.
Though his role in the film was appreciated, Jack ended up as a huge flop. Jack also featured Baby fame Vaishnavi Chaitanya as the female lead, and she too was trolled heavily. So much so that Siddhu went off the radar for months following its release. Just a few days ago, he resurfaced online to announce the release date of his upcoming film Teslusu Kada, directed by stylist Neeraja Kona.
Jack is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, but unfortunately failed to impress there as well, ending up as a massive flop on OTT too. Stay tuned for more updates.
