Jackie Shroff Joins Anupam Kher’s Tanvi The Great as Brigadier Joshi; first look out

Jackie Shroff has been announced as a new member of Anupam Kher's Tanvi The Great cast. The veteran actor, who plays the part of Brigadier Joshi, an army officer, was featured in a poster that was released accompanying the announcement. The recent revelation of Iain Glen's poster, along with his inclusion in the cast, has increased anticipation for the film.

The character of Brig. Joshi is said to be sympathetic, strong, and resolute; Shroff, who brings decades of expertise and a commanding film presence , will play the role. One of the most anticipated aspects of the film is Shroff's performance.

Shroff said of his role in the film that it's a pure learning experience to be working with his 'bhidu' Kher. The actor revealed that the filmmaker poured his heart and energy into making this film.

Kher (who was last seen in The Signature and Ghost) discussed their lengthy personal and professional friendship and how he cast Shroff in the film. He stated, "My friend Jackie Shroff is actually my brother from another mother. We have not only worked together in so many movies; we are also related. Not many know that his wife, Ayesha Shroff, has been tying Rakhi to me for more than 30 years."

Kher added, "Jackie has a golden heart. ‘Love’ can be his second name. He has so much of it in him. One day he dropped in at my place. I was yet to cast my film 'Tanvi The Great'! But I had recorded a few songs. I made him listen to them. He was quiet for a long time after listening to them. Then he hugged me and said. Don’t make this film without me. Brig. Joshi, like any Indian army officer, is larger than life. Strong, decisive and yet compassionate. His portrayal will be remembered for years! Thank you, Shroff for your selfless friendship and brilliant acting. You are a pillar of my strength. Both on and off screen!"

Musical score by Academy Award winner M.M. Keeravani (who was composed music for Bimbisara, RRR, and Pelli SandaD) complements the film Tanvi The Great, directed by Kher. Anupam Kher Studios, in collaboration with the NFDC and Lower Middle Class Corporation, is producing the film.
