Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari has completed 35 years and will re-release on May 9, 2025. Nag Ashwin, the son-in-law of the producer, is behind the 3D version and spent a bomb on the re-release.

Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari is one of those rare films that took Telugu cinema to the next level in the year 1990. Be it the story, VFX, performances, or box office, every aspect of the film was special. Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari has now completed 35 years and is all set to hit the screens on May 9, 2025, the same day as its original release.
Legendary producer C. Aswani Dutt produced the film, which was made on a budget of Rs 2 crore in those days. Now, Aswani Dutt's son-in-law and star director Nag Ashwin, of Yevade Subramanyam and Kalki 2898 AD fame, is behind the re-release, which is getting a record number of screens.
The special aspect of the re-release is that Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari is being released in 3D. For this, Nag Ashwin hired a top VFX company in Hyderabad and made sure that the film is released with the best 4K quality. We at OTTplay have now come to know that Nag Ashwin has spent a whopping Rs 9 crore on the VFX.
One of the sources close to the unit revealed to us that Nag Ashwin did not want to release the film just like that; he dreamt of re-releasing the film in 3D and worked for months on this project. The late Sridevi and Shankar Dada MBBS fame Chiranjeevi played the main leads in this film, which had music by Ilayaraja.
Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari made a whopping Rs 15 crore net in those days and took Chiranjeevi’s stardom to the next level.
