Dhanush’s much-awaited film Jagame Thandhiram released on Netflix on Friday. The makers of the film raised a high bar of expectations for the fans even before its release and that seems to have backfired, as per the audiences’ views on social media. Almost every person who has seen the Tamil film, is not very impressed with Dhanush’s latest offering. The viewers’ response has been quite underwhelming - something which neither the makers not the fans could anticipate.
Be it the first or second half of Jagame Thandhiram, the viewers have declared that it is an achievement to even watch the movie till its end credits.
“#JagameThandhiram turns out to be an incomplete flick drained even more by the least quality of sentimental scenes and the worst of orginal audio voice over(Tamil)for supporting actors (sic),” shared a user on Twitter. Another wrote, “I guess sky high hype is the biggest let down for this movie. Expected a lot but Okayish.”
Here are some more reactions:
Dhanush, who is part of Joe and Anthony Russo’s The Gray Man, was appreciated by the Avengers filmmakers. Sharing the trailer, they had earlier posted on Twitter, “Super da thambi! Excited to be working with Dhanush and good luck with #JagameThandhiram.”
Apart from Dhanush, the Karthik Subbaraj directorial also stars Joju George in the lead role. Aishwarya Lekshmi, who played the lead in Tovino Thomas’ Mayanadi, is the female protagonist in the movie. The actress had recently paired up with Dhanush for Karnan too. The movie also stars Kalaiyarasan and Game Of Thrones actor James Cosmo in pivotal roles. The film released on Netflix on June 18.
