Even Avengers filmmakers Joe and Antony Russo seem to be impressed by Dhanush’s work. The Tamil superstar’s latest film, Jagame Thandhiram, dropped on Netflix on June 18 amid much hype and fanfare.
The Hollywood filmmakers, who have been working with Dhanush for the past few months for the Netflix production The Gray Man, took to Twitter to wish the Tamil star the best ahead of the Karthik Subbaraj directorial’s release.
“Super da thambi! Excited to be working with @dhanushkraja and good luck with #JagameThandhiram,” they tweeted on their handle, while sharing the film’s trailer.
Dhanush was quick to reply. “Thank you so much. That’s very sweet of you. Means a lot to me,” tweeted the actor, who plays a pivotal role in the upcoming Netflix film that also has Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans in lead roles.
The Gray Man, which is based on Mark Greaney’s eponymous novel, also has Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura and Julia Butters in pivotal roles. Dhanush joined the sets of the movie in Los Angeles in March.
The movie is reportedly the most expensive project produced by Netflix, with it being shot in the US, Prague, Czech Republic and France.
Meanwhile, extensive portions of Jagame Thandhiram too were shot in the UK. The movie follows Dhanush’s character Suruli, who is hired by a gangster in the UK. The film also has Scottish actor James Cosmo, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
