With theatres still being shut, a lot of big-ticket Indian movies have opted for a direct to OTT release. Doing away with a theatrical release and opting for a digital release has become a new normal in such unprecedented times. There’s going to be an exciting lineup of upcoming OTT releases that will surely keep you hooked to your screens. With several A-list movies gearing up for release, here are some upcoming releases on OTTs that you cannot afford to miss:

Jagame Thandhiram

The upcoming Tamil gangster action film featuring our favourite South superstar Dhanush is coming to your screens on Netflix on June 18. The high energy, stress buster film revolves around Dhanush's character Suruli, a clever and carefree gangster who is recruited to help an overseas crime mafia take down a rival. Caught off guard by moral dilemmas that follow, the movie is likely to be a pocket full of entertainment.


The upcoming drama film revolves around the story of man-human conflict in the jungle. Chronicling the attempts of an upright forest officer who strives to maintain a balance in a world of man-animal conflict while finding her true calling in a hostile environment, the movie is one of the few that brings to light important issues like nature-man harmony. Releasing on Amazon Prime Videos on June 18, this one is a must-watch.


The anthology series is a tribute to one of the greatest filmmakers of India, Satyajit Ray. Set to premiere on Netflix on June 25, the series is a compilation of stories inspired by the works of the visionary filmmaker. Giving life to Ray's timeless stories, the anthology will touch upon his short tales like Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa, Forget Me Not, Behrupiya and Spotlight. With an excellent star cast on board, be ready for a ride filled with twists, turns and thrills.

Haseena Dillruba

After tossing and turning around the idea of a digital release, Haseen Dilruba is now all set to premiere on Netflix on July 2. The mystery-thriller movie narrates the story of a married woman entangled in the suspicion of her husband's murder and explores the complexity of human relationships. The trailer itself builds up the hype of a mystery that screams entertainment.


The highly anticipated Farhan Akhtar starrer movie Toofaan is now finally coming to Amazon Prime Video on July 16 after being postponed several times. The movie will showcase Akhtar playing the role of a national-level boxing player. The story presents a goon from the streets of Dongri, set against the backdrop of boxing, circling his fall and triumphant comeback against all odds in life. The trailer of the film promises a burst of adrenaline rush.

Cold Case

The Malayalam thriller movie is finally set to make a digital release on Amazon Prime Video on June 30. The much-awaited movie starring Prithviraj Sukumaran will feature the actor playing the role of an IPS officer in the Thanu Balak directorial. The film’s story revolves around a murder investigation and promises a perfect dose of suspense and drama.
