Jailer 2: Mithun Chakraborty confirms Shah Rukh Khan presence in Rajinikanth’s sequel, 'every character is against me'

Among the most-anticipated Tamil films in 2026 is Jailer 2. Starring Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel is currently under production. Recently, Hindi actor Mithun Chakraborty, who himself is part of Jailer 2, had confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan is also part of the star-studded sequel. With Jailer under production, the stalwarts sharing a screen space will be joyful news for their fandoms, bridging the gap between north and south.

Jailer 2: Mithun Chakraborty drops some major revelations

It was back in 2011 when Rajinikanth’s role from Enthiran, Chiti, made a cameo appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s film Ra.One. Now in the upcoming Tamil film Jailer 2, Shah Rukh Khan will be making a cameo appearance. The information was confirmed by Mithun Chakraborty recently in an interview to Siti Cinema.

In the interview, when Mithun was asked about the genre he likes, the veteran actor went on to talk about Jailer 2, “Every character is against me.” Mithun also revealed the cast members, and confirmed the presence of Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Ramya Krishnan, and Shiva Rajkumar. While the last three had appeared in Jailer as well, the inclusion of Shah Rukh Khan is new and have not been confirmed by the makers so far officially.

Jailer 2 is right now under production, with the makers planning to release sometime in summer 2026. The film marks the second collaboration of Nelson and Rajinikanth. While Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring the music, Vijay Karthik Kannan will be cranking the camera. Actors Vinayak, Ramya Krishnan and others will be resuming their roles. Hindi actor Nora Fatehi is reportedly roped in for a dance number.
