Jailer 2: Rajinikanth-starrer's sequel ropes in more Malayalam actors apart from Lichi?

Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, is back in the spotlight as Thalaivar is currently busy filming its sequel's major portions in Kerala. Another exciting news for Malayalam movie buffs is that several actors from the industry have been cast in the action thriller, which is anticipated to be released this year.

Recently, Anna Rajan—who is also known as Lichi through the critically acclaimed Lijo Jose Pellissery film, Angamaly Diaries—announced that she will be appearing in the sequel, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role. In the meantime, there are rumours that the movie will feature more Malayalam actors. Sources claim that Saudi Vellaka-fame Sujith Shankar, Kottayam Nazeer, Sunil Sukhada, and Vineeth Thattil David would all play significant roles in Jailer 2. In the meantime, there had been earlier rumours that Suraj Venjaramoodu will have an important part in the film and that Mohanlal might return. The role of Mathew in Jailer was played by Malayalam actor Mohanlal.
"It was a moment of great fulfilment when I had the opportunity to meet the esteemed superstar and legendary actor, RAJINIKANTH sir," Anna recently said on Instagram. She added that she considers herself very lucky to have had the chance to collaborate with him on Jailer 2.

Jailer is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. Rajinikanth played Muthuvel Pandian, a former jailer, in this action thriller, which was a huge box office success not just in Tamil Nadu but across the world. Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Sunil, Mirna and Yogi Babu played other significant roles in the movie.
Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, a former jailer who now lives an ordinary life with his family, is the central character of the movie. But Muthuvel is forced to face his violent past when his son, a devoted police officer, disappears mysteriously while investigating an idol-smuggling syndicate. He finds an ominous world full of crime and fraud as he sets out on a merciless manhunt.
