Superstar Rajinikanth has jetted off to Mangalore for the next schedule of his upcoming film Jailer. A video of the Superstar entering the Chennai airport has been doing the rounds on social media. In the video, the Superstar, who is donning a black shirt, is seen briskly walking towards the airport, greeting his fans. Meanwhile, those gathered around him are seen shouting 'Thalaiva'. Rajinikanth is playing jailer Muthuvel Pandian in the film and a glimpse of his character was released on the occasion of his birthday in December last year.

It is to be noted that the team had recently wrapped up a schedule in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. A picture of an overturned jeep on the set had gone viral indicating that there could be some heavy-duty action scenes in store. The team was recently joined by Jackie Shroff, who was also captured in a video. Sun Pictures later confirmed his presence in the film. The film marks the comeback of both Rajinikanth and Jackie Shroff in a film after a span of 35 long years. The last time the duo had come together was in 1987 in Uttar Dakshin.

The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has an ensemble cast and includes the top guns of the industry, including Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar, whose also marks his debut in Tamil, Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal, Telugu actor Sunil, along with Tamanaah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi to name a few. Anirudh has scored the music. '

Expectations are riding high on Jailer as Rajinikanth's last release Annaththe directed by Siruthai Siva failed to set the box office on fire. Similarly, Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast, too, opened to negative reviews with many trolling a number of 'illogical sequences in the film.  Nelson's other two films, Nayanthara's Kolamavu Kokila and Sivakarthikeyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan's Doctor opened to positive response from the audience and critics.
