Shiva Rajkumar looks all set to welcome his exciting stint in Tamil cinema. The 61-year-old actor will be seen sharing the screen with two superstars in two hugely anticipated films - Dhanush in Captain Miller and Rajinikanth in Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer. Though Shiva Rajkumar does not have substantial roles to his name, the actor nevertheless seems super glad about the opportunities that have come his way.
Of course, he goes back a long time with superstar Rajinikanth and the two have maintained a great equation over the years. The Ghost actor even refers to Rajinikanth as his chithappa, meaning uncle, and has often recounted the time spent with him in the company of his late father, the matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar. So, when Shivanna was offered the chance to star alongside Rajinikanth even in a sub-15-minute role, it was just too good to pass up.
"It's a small role, I come in for about 10-11 minutes in the film (Jailer). But those 11 minutes felt like I was in heaven while shooting because you see so much activeness in him (Rajinikanth) even at this age. Also, the incredible dedication he has towards work. He respects the director immensely which is great to watch. And at the same time, Nelson sir's making of the film was so amazing to watch. Even though mine is a small role, I was really surprised to see how much importance it was given. A simple scene is shot beautifully and given a lot of weightage, ensuring that the moment between me and Rajini sir has a purpose," said Shiva Rajkumar in a recent conversation with a media outlet.
He would add that he would also be seen in the climax portion of Jailer and that he thoroughly enjoyed working with Rajinikanth. Shivanna, as reported by Wikipedia, plays a character named Narasimha in the film.
Jailer also stars Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan (as Rajinikanth's wife), Vinayakan, Mirnaa Menon, Naga Babu and Yogi Babu, with Mohanlal roped in for a cameo appearance. The Kaavaalaa song from the film, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, has become the latest sensation on the internet.
