Superstar Rajinikanth, who was recently spotted at the Mumbai Wankhede Stadium during the India vs Australia match, today, met the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackerey at his residence, Matoshree. It was a courtesy visit. Aaditya Thackerey, who dropped a picture of the Superstar with his entire family, captioned it, "An absolute delight to have Shri Rajnikant ji ar Matoshree once again (sic). In the picture, the Jailer star is seen along with Uddhav, his wife Rashmi and their sons Aaditya and Tejas. Rajinikanth had met Uddhav's father, Bal Thackerey, the founder of Shiv Sena at the residence, way back in 2010.

Yesterday, pictures of the actor at the Wankhede Stadium did the rounds on the internet. He was seen having a conversation with the President of the Mumbai Cricket Association, Amol Kale.He also unveiled a book that illustrated the history of the popular stadium, along with leading politicians like Sharad Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis. Cricketers Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar, too, met Rajinikanth.

On the work front, the actor is busy shooting for his upcoming film, Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The team had recently completed 100 days of the film's shoot. Jailer has Rajinikanth playing Muthuvel Pandian and a glimpse into his look was revealed on his birthday. The star cast for the film includes Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Tamanaah, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Vinayakan and Vasanth Ravi to name a few. It looks like the film will have some heavy-duty action sequences.

Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander marking his third collaboration with the Superstar after the hit albums of Petta and Darbar. Jailer is his fourth collaboration with Nelson Dilipkumar after Kolamavu Kokila, Don and Doctor. Cinematography for Jailer is by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing is by R Nirmal. The film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
