Superstar Rajinikanth has issued a public notice against infringement. The Jailer actor sent the notice through his legal advisor S Elambharathi, which states that legal action will be taken against those who use the actor's name, voice, photograph, caricature image or AI generated image for commercial purposes (to induce customers to buy) , without permission.
The notice added, "His charisma and nature as an actor and human being has earned him the title of `Superstar` called upon by millions of his fans worldwide. The sheer proportion of his fan base and his respect across the film industry is unmatched and indisputable. Any damage or violation to his reputation or persona would entail great loss to our client having its effect over so many spheres."
It is said that the move comes after a private company used Rajinikanth's photo for their promotions. This apart, Rajinikanth had made a speech at a private event recently, where he reminisced about his younger days when he would resort to drinking, smoking, and eating meat. He had stated that it was after he met his wife Latha Rajinikanth that his life changed for the better. It is said that some portals had twisted the statement.
On the film front, the actor is busy with Nelson Dilipkumar's upcoming film Jailer. The film now has an ensemble cast comprising Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Sunil, Tamanaah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan. It is said that Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff is also part of the film. Rajinikanth plays a jailer in the film and his character is called Muthuvel Pandian. The team had dropped a glimpse of the same on his birthday in December. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. The film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures and is likely to hit screens in mid-summer.
