After much speculation about Tamannaah being part of Superstar Rajinikanth's next, Jailer, the team has now confirmed that the actress is indeed part of the film. The makers dropped the first-look poster of Tamannaah in which she is seen intensely looking at something. Tamannaah is the latest to join the sets after Telugu actor Sunil's presence was recently confirmed by the team. Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar and Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal have already confirmed their presence and the makers have shared their looks from the film. Sun Pictures, which is bankrolling the film, has been dropping a series of character posters in recent times.
Tamannaah is one name that has been in consideration ever since the project took off but the makers never made an official announcement about the same. The other lady to have a crucial role in the film is Ramya Krishnan, who is teaming up with Rajinikanth after a span of two decades. She made a special appearance in Rajinikanth's 2022 film, Baba, as Neelambari, her popular character Neelambari from Padayappa. Yogi Babu, Vinayakan and Vasanth Ravi are also part of the star cast. With the latest additions, the star cast of Jailer is getting bigger and bigger by the day.
Rajinikanth plays a jailer in the film, who is called Muthuvel Pandian. A glimpse into his character was shared on the occasion of the actor's birthday on December 12 and it soon went viral on social media. Jailer is helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, whose last release was Vijay's Beast. Rajinikanth, on the other hand, was seen in director Siva's Annaththe. Both Beast and Annaththe opened to negative reviews at the box office and hence, a lot is riding on the upcoming film. Jailer has music by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his third venture with the Superstar after Petta and Darbar.
