Jaladhara Pump Set Since 1962 is an upcoming satirical film, helmed by Ashish Chinnappa. The movie features Indrans and Urvashi lead roles. According to latest reports, the movie will be released on August 11, before King of Kotha (starring Dulquer Salmaan) and Ramachandra Boss & Co (starring Nivin Pauly) hit the theatres.
Jaladhara Pump Set Since 1962 is Ashish’s directorial debut, but he is no stranger to the Malayalam film industry. He has worked as an assistant director in Innu Muthal and Varikkuzhiyile Kolapathakam. According to the director, the film is set in a fictional village, and the plot revolves around a pump set. The sneak-peek of the film released earlier featured Indrans and Urvashi on the veranda of a lower court, having a humorous conversation.
The movie also features Johny Antony, Sanusha Sagar, TG Ravi and Anjali Sunilkumar. The character posters released earlier showed both TG Ravi and Johny Antony donning the advocate’s attire.
The screenplay is written by Ashish and Prajin MP. It is based on the story of Sanu K Chandran. Odukkathil Viswajith, who has earlier done the camerawork for films like Hridayam and Adv. Mukundan Unni Associates, is in charge of cinematography for this film, while Rathin Radhakrishnan is taking care of the editing work.
Urvashi was last seen in the comedy film Charles Enterprises, which was not so well received at the box office. The movie tells the story of a young man, suffering from night blindness, who steals a Ganesh idol from his mother.
Meanwhile, Indrans, who has been essaying serious characters lately, was last seen in Jackson Bazaar Youth and Pendulum. He also voiced a dog character in the canine film, Valatty.
