Jalsa: Shefali Shah says the film with Vidya Balan got her 'high' creatively

The actor Shefali Shah has proven her mettle with the kinds of roles she's done. She has offered something new each time to the audience. And, her next Amazon Prime Video film Jalsa is said to be another feather in her cap. 

In Jalsa, Shefali plays the role of a mother whose daughter gets killed. Shefali has a certain process to get into the shoes of the character and portray it perfectly. The trailer of the film is out already and her performance has been winning praises all over the internet.

Shefali recently recalled her experience working on the thriller with Vidya Balan. In her press statement, she said, "There were fun parts but right after the first shot, it’s a very intense film. For me, creatively- it was very high." 

The actress is a perfectionist. Talking about an incident from the shoot she added that there was a scene, which was challenging to shoot due to some continuity issues with her dupatta and her purse. The scene has her walking into the garage and hitting the boy. "So the way I wanted to do is— hit him, grab him, hit him with purse and he said, go ahead. I did it and it was good. But then when they started to take it from different angles they wanted to match the moment of my dupatta when it fell down, when my hand goes up, was one handle of the purse was fallen...! I regrated all my asking again. We had to re-do it to match the continuity," she said.

Meanwhile, Jalsa marks the first collaboration between Shefali Shah and Vidya Balan. It is the third collaboration between Abundantia Entertainment, Vidya Balan and Prime Video. The film is helmed by Suresh Triveni who has earlier collaborated with Vidya Balan for Tumhari Sulu. This is the second time they are coming together for a feature. 

Jalsa will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 18.
