It was an evening to remember at Hoichoi’s New Year bash at a city’s restopub at Park Street on Thursday. A bevy of stars from the Bengali film industry were seen letting their hair down as the DJ console churned out hits from retro Bollywood to Jamal Kudu and others.

The party started at around 10 pm as Parambrata Chatterjee, Srijit Mukherji, Jisshu U Sengupta, his family, and others walked into the ‘purple-themed’ party. The stunner that she is, Swastika Mukherjee entered the party in a purple sari with a silver border. The DJ on the house left no stone unturned to keep the dance floor busy. However, it was Jamal Kudu that rocked the dance floor with Srijit and Swastika dancing their heart out. To add a little spice, it was Parambrata who took a sip from the glass settled on Srijit’s head. Soon the glass shattered conforming the party was already a hit.

As the night grew younger, the senior brigade from the industry made sure to rock the party. Jisshu and Srijit took the centrestate with their fabulous performance with Bachna Ae Hasino. The director and actor set the dancefloor on fire with their retro moves. Sara – Jisshu’s daughter – joined in and made it a dance to remember.

It is not just them. From Sandipta Sen and Soumya Mukherjee to Indrasish Roy and others – Tollywood folks enjoyed every bit of the party till the wee hours of Friday. Anusha Viswanathan had a raging dance with Srijit, while Swastika startled everyone with her moves.

It is not just the industry seniors, the younger lot, including Ujaan Ganguly, Shruti Das, Rajnandini Paul, Satyam Bhattacharya, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Debraj Bhattacharya, and others were also seen rocking the dance floor. Tollywood seems to have embraced the new year with a lot of love for purple and raw energy.
