Jana Nayagan trailer has just dropped and it has enough and more cues and references, that can silence the rumours surrounding the film. Starring Vijay in the lead role, Jana Nayagan was speculated to be a remake of Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. Now, with the trailer out, several frames have given away the truth. Additionally, Jana Nayagan trailer is also loaded with political references and dialogues, that also might be applicable for Vijay in real life as politician.
It is now official that Jana Nayagan is the last film for Vijay as actor, before he quits cinema to pursue full-time politics. At this juncture, the trailer of the film was released by the makers.
Given the strong speculations of Bhagavanth Kesari, the trailer has an impeccable similarity of the plot. While the Nandamuri Balakrishna film has a man taking care of his god daughter and training her to join army only for her to face abuse by the antagonist, Jana Nayagan also appears to have a similar plotline.
But the twist comes with a plethora symbolism, dialogues and references to Vijay’s political entry in real life. To start with, Vijay's name in the film is Thalapathy Vetri Kondan (TVK), which not only implies his monicker but also his party name Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Not just this, the introduction of Vijay is also welcomed by the trumpeting elephants on either side, a direct reference to Vijay's party flag. On the other hand, the Jana Nayagan trailer has many politically charged dialogues. When Vijay says, 'He is a common man but whatever I do is super' or being a good samaritan. There are dialogues towards the end that goes like 'All the thugs have ganged up and they should not win', 'I have no intention of going back, I'm coming' and how Vijay lashes out at those politicians who plunder public.

Headlined by Vijay, Jana Nayagan marks his first collaboration with director H Vinoth. The ensemble cast includes Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Narain, Priyamani, and Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film features music by Anirudh Ravichander and is slated for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026.
The post-theatrical streaming rights of Jana Nayagan have been acquired by Prime Video, with the film expected to premiere on the platform in February after its theatre run. The film’s audio launch, recently held in Malaysia, will stream on ZEE5 via OTTplay Premium on January 4.
