Suresh Gopi and Anupama Parameswaran’s Malayalam legal drama, Janaki V vs State of Kerala is all set to stream on OTT, barely a month after its theatrical release. The movie, which is directed by Pravin Narayanan, will begin streaming on ZEE5 from August 15, 2025, onwards.
The film was in the news after the Censor Board had suggested altering its title from Janaki to Janaki V as the protagonist in the movie, a sexual assault survivor, “could not be named after a goddess”. Though the makers had initially protested this, along with a bunch of filmmakers in Kerala, thye relented, with the movie’s release being delayed for over a month.

OTTplay was the first to report that the movie’s digital streaming rights were purchased by ZEE5, just like Suresh Gopi’s previous films - Paapan and Mei Hoon Moosa. Now, the streaming platform, which is also accessible via OTTplay Premium, has announced that it will be dropping JSK on Independence Day. The movie will be available to stream in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
