The iconic actress Sridevi's fifth death anniversary is on February 24. Prior to that, Janhvi Kapoor, her daughter, posted the heartbreaking message on social media. The Mili actress shared an old photo of herself and her mother, which appears to be from a special occasion. The picture shows a young Janhvi gazing in awe at Sridevi.
Sharing it, she wrote, “I still look for you everywhere mumma, still do everything I do hoping I’m making you proud. Everywhere I go, and everything I do- it starts and ends with you. ❤️"
After accidently drowning in the bathtub on February 24, 2018, Sridevi passed away in a hotel in Dubai. Along with Boney Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, she was there for a family gathering for star Sonam Kapoor's cousin Mohit Marwah. Janhvi was unable to attend the function. She passed away barely a few months before Janhvi's Dhadak, her debut Bollywood movie.
Talking about coping with the death of Sridevi, Janhvi, in an earlier interview, said the shoot of Dhadak gave her courage. “It hasn’t been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn’t for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways,” Janhvi told India Today.
Throwback pictures of the late actress are regularly posted on Boney, Janhvi, and Khushi's social media accounts. In 1996, Boney Kapoor wed Sridevi.
On the professional front, Janhvi Kapoor most recently appeared in the survival thriller Mili. She will thereafter be featured in Bawaal opposite Varun Dhawan, which is anticipated to be out in April. Jana Gana Mana, starring Vijay Devarakonda, is another project in development for the actress. In addition to this, Janhvi worked once again with Rajkummar Rao in the movie Mr. and Mrs. Mahi.
