The next-generation Kapoor sisters after Kareena and Karisma have made their Bollywood debut, and all eyes are on who is performing better. Khushi Kapoor's Loveyapa has released today, and the movie, which marks her debut, has miles to go yet. Despite the heavy promotions, the trends for Loveyapa suggest that the movie is far behind when compared to Janhvi Kapoor's debut film, Dhadak. Here's looking into the Box Office trends for both the movies on day 1...

Loveyapa Box Office prediction/trends day 1

Loveyapa is backed by Aamir Khan and Boney Kapoor. The film marks the big screen debut of their children, Junaid Khan (seen in Maharaja on Netflix previously) and Khushi Kapoor (she was a part of Netflix film, The Archies). Be it that the audiences have judged their performances early on basis their OTT debut or the fact that Loveyapa is a post-COVID release, but the day 1 for this movie does not appear promising, not compared to Janhvi Kapoor-Ishaan Khatter's Dhadak. The Box Office trends/prediction suggest that Loveyapa could maybe touch approximately Rs. 1.50 crores (the original prediction is Rs. 70 lakhs, but the collections might go up basis word-of-mouth), but even that is still not close to what Dhadak had minted on day 1.

Karan Johar-backed Dhadak had a lot of factors working for them. It was the official adaptation of a cult Marathi love story, Sairat. The music was catchy and almost at par with the original. And the biggest advantage Janhvi Kapoor-Ishaan Khatter's acting debut film had was that it released pre-COVID. Back then, people were excited to step foot into theatres and explore what the new talents have to offer. This means, in a world where Rs. 100 crore club was almost a norm, even debutants could bring in a Box Office collection of over Rs. 8 crores (it minted Rs. 8.75 crores). Thus, in comparison to Loveyapa, Dhadak still holds stronger (but still not for the times we were living in pre-COVID).

Dhadak vs Loveyapa: Which Kapoor sister is the winner?

On the face of it, for obvious reasons, Janhvi Kapoor and her debut film Dhadak is the clear winner. But it might still be too early to predict if Loveyapa can be a hit or flop, mainly because the film's budget remains unclear, the weekend and first Monday Box Office will paint a clearer picture of whether Loveyapa can be a hit, superhit or will end up as another flop in the post-COVID era.
