Jawan has proved that it's an out-and-out entertainer and is here to stay in people's minds for a very long time. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the other actor who has made fans go gaga is none other than Deepika Padukone, who has an extended cameo appearance in the film. Interestingly, her character name has a connection with her debut film. No, we are not talking about Om Shanti Om and SRK, but her actual first film, the 2006 Kannada release, Aishwarya.

Deepika Padukone's special connection:

(Spoilers ahead!) Yes, Deepika is named Aishwarya in Jawan, and she plays the older SRK, Vikram Rathore's wife, in the film. After a very long time, we have seen a character named Aishwarya in mainstream Bollywood cinema, and, interestingly, the name takes Deepika back to the time she started acting. In her debut film, she played the titular role, just like in her Bollywood debut, Om Shanti Om.

Here's what Deepika plays in Jawan:

In Jawan, Deepika nearly makes a 20-minute appearance in the second half of the film. She is seen as the wife of an army official and gets trapped in the venomous act of Kaali (Vijay Sethupathi). Her performance with heavy emotional baggage struck the right chord with the audience, and fans have lauded her soul-stirring performance in the film.

All about Aishwarya:

While in Aishwarya, the actor was paired opposite Upendra Rao. Daisy Bopanna and Master Kishan also played significant roles in the Indrajit Lankesh-directed movie. The actor also has a song, Aishwarya Aishwarya, dedicated to her in the film.

Meanwhile, Deepika, in her special appearance, has two songs picturized on her, including Faraatta with Shah Rukh and an emotional song titled Aararaari Raaro. You can watch these songs on the big screen until the makers officially release the videos for them.
