During her recent promotions for Kathal, Sanya Malhotra was constantly quizzed about her forthcoming outing, Jawan. However, the actor kept on denying it, showed that she was unaware, and didn't confirm her presence in the film. Now, after Shah Rukh Khan announced the new release date of Jawan, Sanya has finally confirmed that she is a part of the Atlee directorial. The actor announced it via her social media pages.
She shared the new announcement video and the post of Jawan by captioning it as "#Jawan #7thSeptember2023."
Several celebs congratulated Sanya on being a part of the film and sharing screen space with SRK. A few netizens went on to thank her for finally admitting that she is indeed a part of Jawan.
This is Shah Rukh's first collaboration with Atlee, who directed the critically acclaimed Tamil films Raja Rani, Theri, Mersal, and Bigil.
Pan-Indian release Jawan is being billed as an action-packed extravaganza with stars from all around Bollywood.
Gauri Khan produces the film with Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment. South Indian film actors Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi also play significant parts in the film. The movie is getting a trilingual release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Meanwhile, talking about Sanya, the actor will next be seen in Kathal, which is set to be a Netflix release. The plot of Kathal centres on Mahima (Sanya), a police officer from a small village who is tasked with recovering two stolen jackfruits. Yashowardhan Mishra, the film's director, who has co-written alongside his father, Ashok Mishra, is making his directorial debut with this feature.
Co-starring with Rajpal Yadav and Shashi Ranjan are Vijay Raaz, Anant Joshi, Neha Saraf, Govind Pandey, and Anant Joshi. Monga-run Sikhya Entertainment and Ektaa R. Kapoor-run Balaji Telefilms Ltd. are the producers of "Kathal."
Kathal is premiering on Netflix on May 19, 2023.
