Jawan’s director Atlee to make a children’s film? Here’s what we know

Ever since the time the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ had been announced, it had the term ‘blockbuster’ written all over it. There were many reasons for the film to be touted as a potential blockbuster even before it could release in theatres. One of the reasons was indeed the presence of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who had just come back after delivering a mammoth hit in the form of ‘Pathaan’ and many were sure and confident that he will continue his success streak with ‘Jawan’ as well. The second most important reason was that the film ‘Jawan’ was being directed by Atlee Kumar.

Even though ‘Jawan’ happens to be director Atlee’s debut film (as a director) in Bollywood, his films down south have been mega blockbusters. Films like ‘Theri’, ‘Mersal’, ‘Bigil’ stand as testimony to the magical touch that Atlee has on his films. And it’s the same magical touch with which he had made ‘Jawan’, which also turned out to be a mega blockbuster at the box office. With the film ‘Jawan’ turning out to be a golden blockbuster, it's totally needless to say that, all the eyes are now trained on the film maker Atlee’s next film.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Atlee revealed that, after working tirelessly on ‘Jawan’, he will now be taking a break of four months and will spend as much time as possible with his seven-month-old baby boy Meer. He said that, unlike his previous films, this time, he will not be restless about thinking about his next project. He also confessed that he will be learning to do some baby sitting and also fatherhood. In the same breath, he added that, once he starts off with his next project, his baby won’t be able to spend time with him and that his next film will be for him (his son Meer). He also added that he is planning to create something for his (Meer’s) world and that by the time the next film releases, he (Meer) should be happy for his father’s success.
