Popular television anchor, host Suma Kanakala, who's second to none in terms of popularity on the small screen, is inching her way back to cinema with a bang. She is headlining a rural entertainer titled Jayamma Panchayathi. The film is the brainchild of Vijay Kumar Kalivarapu, who has not only directed it, but also has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. Jayamma Panchayathi is bankrolled by Balaga Prakash under Vennela Creations. Leading composer MM Keeravani has composed the tunes for the same and the popularity of the singles released over the last few months have ensured good buzz for the film.

Earlier today, the makers of Jayamma Panchayathi adopted an interesting strategy to announce the film's release date through a hilarious audio note. The audio note has Suma considering various release dates for the film, March 25, April 14, April 29 and May 12, when biggies like RRR, KGF Chapter 2, Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata are slated to hit theatres. Realising that she doesn't have much of a choice or a good window for release, Suma ultimately announces that Jayamma Panchayathi would make it to theatres on April 22 and also requested audiences to watch it along with their families.

The team is planning to embark on an extensive promotional campaign shortly and will release regular updates surrounding the film in the coming weeks. Several leading names from the industry including Ram Charan, Nani, Rana Daggubati and SS Rajamouli have promoted the songs and other promos of Jayamma Panchayathi in the recent months. In the film, Suma plays a headstrong village woman, whose world revolves around herself and she doesn't care much about what the society thinks of her. Anush Kumar has cranked the camera for the same, with Ravi Teja Girijala handling the edits. Dhanu Andhluri is the art director and Hari Priya is the costume designer.
