Jayasurya’s Eesho to be an OTT release?

The first look poster of Jayasurya’s upcoming film Eesho, which was released last month by Mammootty, had created quite a buzz. The film, directed by Nadirshah, is reportedly set to be an OTT release.

Eesho marks Nadirshah’s first thriller as a director. He had previously helmed four comedy entertainers including Amar Akbar Anthony and Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan. The movie is scripted by Suneesh Varanad, who had earlier written the screenplay of Manju Warrier and Indrajith-starrer Mohanlal.

Earlier, the makers from the team had suggested that the movie was scripted taking into account the number of movies that are yet to release in theatres. “It was made for an OTT release. The movie was also written keeping in mind the pandemic restrictions,” said the source.

When we reached out to Nadirshah, he said, “We haven’t finalised where we want the movie to release yet – on OTTs or theatres.” Eesho, which was shot in Ernakulam when the pandemic restrictions were relaxed last year, also has Namitha Pramod and Salim Kumar in pivotal roles.

Nadirshah, meanwhile, was busy with Dileep’s Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan when the lockdown was declared last year. The filmmaker had earlier said that with it being an all-out entertainer, he was only looking at a theatrical release for the film, which has Dileep as a sexagenarian, and Urvashi, Swasika and Anusree in pivotal roles.

Jayasurya was previously shooting for Prajesh Sen’s Meri Awaaz Suno, which also has Manju Warrier and Sshivada.
