Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar has caught the attention of the fans following the release of the movie’s trailer. The High Court has issued a notice to the makers for not inserting disclaimers in the film.
The Delhi High Court today asked the makers to insert a disclaimer in certain scenes concerning the illegality of the practice of sex determination of a foetus. It has given the movie the greenlight for its release. Jayeshbhai Jordaar is releasing in theatres this week, as scheduled.
“We appreciate the message but you have to tell people that it is an offence,” said the bench consisting of Justice Navin Chawla and Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri. The bench has asked the makers to add a disclaimer in two scenes.
The relevant portion of the movie was also played for the court during the hearing. A prominent disclaimer will be shown in both English and Hindi during the questioned scenes.
The trailer of Jayeshbhai Jordaar was released back in April and has become a hit among the fans. The trailer has now garnered over 29 million views on YouTube. Ranveer plays a mild mannered family man from a powerful family, who has to protect his unborn girl child from the hands of his orthodox family and the society.
Written and directed by Divyang Thakkar, the comedy-drama also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles. Bankrolled by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films, the movie is scheduled to hit theatres on May 13. The film’s OTT release is yet to be announced.
