What to expect from the Jazz City series?

Set in 1971, the series centers on a jazz music club in Kolkata (then Calcutta), exploring the untold stories of resistance and the Bangladesh Liberation War. The series will explore how India helped Bangladesh to successfully create its own nation, by revolting against Pakistan. The fight for the liberation of Bangladesh is what makes Jazz City a must-watch drama. Jazz music serves as a powerful metaphor for exploring the themes of revolution, identity crisis, and unspoken emotions during the war. The music acts as a character in itself, driving the story's mood and emotional depth.

What does the Jazz City teaser show?

The video begins with a Pakistani soldier pushing a seriously injured Bengali man from his car and asking him to choose between being a Muslim or Bengali. After hearing his reply, "both", the man pulls the trigger and kills the man. In the background, jazz music and some Rabindranath Tagore's works are added as a language of revolution.

The teaser highlights a popular jazz club in Kolkata and how it became a secret hub for revolutionary activities during the 1971 war. While the show is mainly focused on the Liberation War, the video also highlights the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Pulwama attack and the Pathankot attack to showcase how Pakistan has been creating trouble in India for decades, and what would have happened if Pakistan controlled East Pakistan too.
