Sony LIV’s Jazz City has unveiled an intriguing teaser of its upcoming series and it highlights a tale of revolution for Bangladesh against the backdrop of a jazz club in India’s Kolkata. The latest Bengali series features a star-studded ensemble of Arifin Shuvoo, Sauraseni Maitra (Saali Mohabbat) and Santanu Ghatak among others. Streaming platform Sony LIV is all set for an intriguing slate of upcoming shows and movies. After a successful 2025 with 13th, Real Kashmir Football Club and The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assasination Case,, Sony LIV is gearing up for more exciting original content. On December 16, the makers unveiled the first look and new teaser of Jazz City. The Bengali original series centers around India’s involvement to free Bangladesh of Pakistan’s oppression. Set in the 1971 era, the upcoming series revolves around the events of a time when Pakistan envisioned breaking India into parts. However, in the process of breaking its enemy nation, it instead lost its own part with Bangladesh’s partition.
In the teaser of Jazz City, we meet a Pakistani man, who pushes a brutally injured Bengali man from his car and asks him to choose between Muslim or Bengal. After hearing the reply, ‘both,’ the man pulls the trigger and kills the rebellious man, who vows to get freedom.
The story begins with a spark in a small tunnel that goes straight to Kolkata’s most happening place, a Jazz Club. Against the backdrop of English music, a revolution stirred in Bangladesh and it changed the history and also the geography of Pakistan.
