Netflix has dropped the teaser of a documentary on Kanye West titled jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. It's a major documentary event by Clarence "Coodie" Simmons and Chike Ozah, presented in three acts. A Kanye Trilogy is an intimate and detailed depiction of Kanye West's life, depicting both his early days as a struggling musician and his current existence as a global brand and artist.

The multi-part docuseries features Clarence "Coodie" Simmons and Chike Ozah, better known as Coodie & Chike, who directed and produced West's 2004 music videos Jesus Walks (Version 3) and Through the Wire, which are behind the multi-part docuseries. They also produced and directed the 2012 ESPN 30 for 30 documentary Benji about Benjamin Wilson, as well as music videos for Lupe Fiasco, Erykah Badu, and others, and the 2019 documentary A Kid From Coney Island about former NBA star Stephon Marbury.

According to Billboard, Simmons has been filming West in Chicago since the 1990s, and their friendship will serve as the foundation for the documentary series, which will chronicle the rapper and producer's rise to fame and the impact of fame on him, as well as hip-hop's on popular culture and the world's evolving relationship with celebrity.

The series will also deal with the loss of West's mother, Donda West, and the influence it had on the rapper; his personal transformation in recent years; his successful foray into fashion design; and his unsuccessful candidacy for President in 2020, according to the second source. It's unknown whether the show will also cover West's divorce from Kim Kardashian in 2021.

West won his first gospel Grammy and 22nd career Grammy for his Jesus Is King album last year, marking the first time he has been honoured by the Recording Academy since 2013.

jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, a once-in-a-lifetime three-week global event, will premiere on Netflix on February 16, 2022.
