The upcoming superhero TV series, Gen V, will feature Jensen Ackles, who is renowned for his roles as Dean Winchester in Supernatural and Soldier Boy in The Boys series. In this spin-off show, Ackles will be reprising his role as Soldier Boy from the comedy superhero series, The Boys. The new series will include many of the cast members from the original show and a cameo appearance from Ackles. Entertainment Weekly has published a photo of Ackles in costume as the antagonist Soldier Boy on the set of Gen V. He is seen holding a shield and making a V symbol for the show.
During a fan convention for the Supernatural series, Ackles revealed that he filmed several brief scenes for Gen V. These scenes were largely improvised with the assistance of Eric Kripke, the creator of both Supernatural and The Boys. Ackles is not the sole cast member from The Boys to appear in Gen V, as Jessie T Usher, Chace Crawford, Colby Minifie, and PJ Byrne will also have roles in the show.
Gen V follows a group of young superheroes attending Godolkin College in America. They push their limits in terms of physical, sexual, and ethical boundaries as they compete for the top contracts in the most desirable cities. The main character, Marie Moreau, is a freshman who possesses the ability to manipulate objects. Other super-powered students also attend Godolkin, and when they discover the university's shady secrets, they begin to question what it truly means to be a superhero.
Gen V will stream on Amazon Prime Video from September 29.
