Jersey: Actor Saurabh V Pandey on working with Shahid Kapoor, says 'My hard work has finally paid off'

Shahid Kapoor's film, Jersey has been heaping praises from the audience and critics alike. The film, which was released on April 22, is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name, featuring Nani in Gowtam Tinnanuri's directorial. The sports drama is being appreciated especially for its direction and performances of its cast. 

Along with Shahid Kapoor, actor Saurabh V Pandey is also being widely appreciated for his performance as Captain Ravindra of the Punjab Cricket team. Speaking about his character, Saurabh said in his statement, "Ravindra is a cricket enthusiast who plays a great role in Shahid Kapoor's cricket career. His energy in the film is incredible." The actor was given training in cricket by professionals for a month. Speaking further about his preparation for the role, he said, "I had to be physically fit since I was playing the character of a sportsman. I worked hard and underwent training for one month for the same. The professional trained us with various cricket techniques."

He said it was a dream come true for him to work with Shahid Kapoor. He is an admirer of Shahid's work since his college days. He said he has worked hard to work with better actors and now, he feels it has finally paid off. "The best thing about Shahid Sir is he is a fun-loving and down to earth person who knows well how to make everyone comfortable. Shahid Sir used to improvise his scenes and do rehearsal a lot. He is a person who owes to deliver his best, no matter what it takes," he added.

He also thanked the director Gowtam Tinnanuri, who has also helmed the Telugu film, for the opportunity and said that he spreads happy and positive vibes on set, making it easy for him to deliver what was required. He believes the kind of guidance and support he gives really nurtures an actor. 

Saurabh quit his corporate job to pursue his passion for acting. He was earlier seen in films like Atkan Chatkan, Lipstick Under My Burkha and many more. 

Apart from Shahid Kapoor and Saurabh V Pandey, Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, among others. It is currently running in theatres.
