Jersey: Nani praises Shahid Kapoor for his performance in the remake of his film

After much delay, Shahid Kapoor’s film Jersey hit the theatres today. The film opened to positive reviews so far. Nani, who starred in the original Jersey, has also revealed his views on the Hindi remake. Nani applauded director Gowtam Tinnanuri and Shahid Kapoor after seeing the Hindi version of his film. The actor also praised the film's entire cast.

Shahid Kapoor wholeheartedly thanked him and replied to his tweet. He wrote: "Thank you. From one Arjun to another. Big love my friend. You have a big heart and that’s what Jersey is all about. More power to you."

The sports drama Jersey focuses on the life of a former cricketer who, at the age of 36, aspires to return to the game to fulfil his son's dreams and prove his worth. It's a remake of Nani's titular character in the 2019 Telugu film of the same name. The film was repeatedly postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused severe delays. Pankaj Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Shishir Sharma, Geetika Mehandru, Rudrashish Majumdar, and others are also among the major cast.

Both the original and the Hindi version of the films are directed by filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri. Mrunal Thakur portrays the role of Shahid’s wife, while Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur portrays his cricket coach in the movie.

The film is currently running in theatres.
