Kunal Kapoor opens up about feeling lonely on Jewel Thief sets: 'Was always chasing, never with them'

Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins is one of the most-awaited films of 2025. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat in the lead roles, the heist thriller has been garnering attention ever since it was announced. The film also stars Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta in key roles. The film will land on Netflix on April 25. Ahead of it, Kunal opened up about feeling lonely on the Jewel Thief sets.

Kunal Kapoor's character in Jewel Thief is all about chasing the others, and he said that although it was fun, he felt lonely on the sets. He told Filmygyan, “Loneliness because I am not with them in the film, I am chasing them, so I was alone on the set. These people would enjoy together.”

Talking about Jewel Thief, Kunal Kapoor said that he joined the cast for two main reasons . One is to collaborate with talents like Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Siddharth Anand and the second is every character in this film possesses a distinct voice and space. "At the end of the day, I believe your craft and character should do the talking, not your billing on the poster," he said.

Starring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat, the story revolves around a skilled thief hired to steal the legendary African Red Sun diamond. The heist plan becomes a treacherous game of deception and betrayal as the thief and his accomplices face unexpected alliances and high-stakes situations.The film is set in Budapest, Istanbul, and Mumbai.

Saif will play the role of Rehan Roy, the master thief, while Jaideep Ahlawat will be seen as Rajan Aulakh, the mafia boss. Kunal Kapoor will portray Detective Vikram Patel and Nikita Dutta will play Farah, who is closely linked to the heist plot.

Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robby Grewal, Jewel Thief is produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Bhatia.
