Jhund piques the curiosity of the audience. As per the production figures, Nagraj Manjule's masterwork grew even more on Sunday, grossing Rs 6.50 crore at its first weekend. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer scores a goal and tugs at the heartstrings of the audience, resulting in it becoming one of the most popular films. In total, Jhund minted Rs 2.90 crore on Sunday, while it made about Rs 2.10 crore on Saturday, and on Friday, the film collected Rs 1.50 crore in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, according to Box Office India, Jhund did not fare well at the box office, grossing less than Rs 4.50 crore nett over the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, the film's popularity grew, but it wasn't enough. Maharashtra accounts for the majority of the film's revenue, but it does not appear that it will go far. Outside of Maharashtra, collections are a disaster, with even Delhi being unable to collect despite media backing for the film.

Jhund's overall weekend collections are almost identical to The Batman's total weekend collections in all 21 IMAX properties. The following are Jhund's first weekend collections.

Friday - Rs 90 lakhs approx

Saturday - Rs 1.50 crore approx

Sunday - Rs 2 crore approx

Total - Rs 4.40 crore approx

Meanwhile, during an interaction with PTI, Manjule said he was immediately captivated by the film's central theme of how a guy recognises promise in slum children that society feels should be ignored.

When the filmmaker first met Vijay Barse, he was enthralled by his story and what he had accomplished. Manjule called it a tremendous achievement. Then he was moved when he met the kids. Each of them had a unique story to tell. Struggle, oppression, poverty, and discrimination stories. But they all opted to break the barrier and climb above it. It was necessary to tell their story for the ace filmmaker.
