Jitendra Kumar has been associated with Panchayat since its inception. The actor, who plays Abhishek Tripathi in the web series, recently impressed the masses with Panchayat 3, which dropped on Amazon Prime Video. After the show's release, several media reports suggested Jitendra was the highest-paid actor in Panchayat 3. It was reported that the actor charges Rs 70,000 per episode. Now, the actor has reacted to the buzz surrounding his salary for the OTT show.
Jitendra Kumar reacts to being the highest-paid actor of Panchayat 3
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Jitendra Kumar responded to rumours of earning Rs 70,000 per episode for Panchayat 3. Rumours were circulating that senior actress Neena Gupta minted Rs 50,000 per episode. However, Jitendra feels that discussing someone's salary is not fair.
"Well, I think discussing somebody’s salary and financial matters is really unfair. Nothing good comes out of the discussion, and it’s not even fruitful. So, I think one should avoid falling for any such rumours; they should not be a thing," he told the publication.
Further, Jitendra revealed how Panchayat changed a lot of things for him. The actor admitted that professionally, a lot has changed; however, there's been no major change in his personal life. The Panchayat 3 actor added that he just made minimal changes in his life to make it more comfortable.
Jitendra Kumar on Panchayat's success
Continuing the conversation, Jitendra Kumar discussed how one successful show comes with better work opportunities in terms of better scripts and projects. But the actor feels there is also a responsibility attached to it. "It becomes my responsibility to try to do the work in a more creative and interesting way to meet the expectations of my fans," he added.
Meanwhile, Jitendra is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming web show, Kota Factory 3. The series, which features him as Jeetu Bhaiya, will drop on June 20 on Netflix.
