Jitendra Kumar is a bonafide star, especially in the OTT universe. And now the fact that his Netflix film Jaadugar’s song Shabaash has found its way to the coveted Commonwealth Games, makes it all the more exciting for him.
It so happened that Shabaash has been played at the event as an anthem for the Indian contingent, confirmed multiple media reports. Kumar, understandably, is beyond “ecstatic”.
“It is indeed a big thing for any actor… In the movie, the song is played to cheer us up, restore our spirits, and emancipate us from the pressures of winning,” he said in a statement to the media, and added that being a part of the Indian players’ journey is indeed a proud moment for him.
“Our athletes are already making us proud at one of the biggest sporting events in the world and being a part of their journey even in a compact manner swells my heart with pride,” a part of his statement reads.
Jitendra Kumar was trending this year for another reason—his monstrous hit Panchayat Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video. The series not only hit the right notes with the audience, but also garnered critical appreciation. OTTplay gave it 3.5 stars, and recommended it for “it connects you to actual village culture.”
In other news, the Commonwealth Games are being held in the United Kingdom (Birmingham).
