Popular film star and singer Jennifer Lopez recently tied the knot with Ben Affleck. The couple known as Bennifer, have rekindled their romantic relationship after breaking off their engagement nearly 18 years ago. So on today’s list, we take a look at JLo rom-coms that will restore our belief in true love. Here we go

Monster-in-Law - Hungama Play

The 2005 romantic comedy may not have been JLo’s best performance according to critics, but it certainly appealed to the audience as it earned nearly triple its production budget at the box office. Jennifer Lopez plays the lead as Charlie, a yoga instructor who falls in love with a doctor and is soon engaged. The film features the return of legendary Hollywood actress Jane Fonda after a 15-year hiatus from the industry. The multiple Academy Award-winner essays the role of Viola, the overbearing and conniving mother of Charlie’s boyfriend. Viola deems Charlie unworthy to marry her son and does everything in her power to sabotage the wedding.

Marry Me - Amazon Prime Video

Released earlier this year, Marry Me is a rom-com with JLo in the lead along with Owen Wilson. The film features Lopez as a popular singer named Kat who decides to get married to her longtime boyfriend Bastian, played by Maluma, in a live event at one of her concerts. But her dreams come crashing down at the altar when it is revealed that Bastian has been cheating on her with her own assistant Tyra. A distraught and impulsive Kat decides to marry one of her fans in the crowd holding a ‘Marry Me’ sign. The fan, a math teacher played by Wilson, accepts the proposal and marries Kat in front of a live audience. What ensues is an awkward relationship that features humor and drama.

The Wedding Planner - Lionsgate Play

It is almost a distant memory that Matthew McConaughey was once typecast in romantic comedies. He starred alongside JLo in the 2001 romantic comedy, The Wedding Planner. JLo plays the role of an ambitious wedding planner who also hopes to settle down someday. She has a chance encounter with a doctor named Steve, played by McConaughey, and they quickly develop feelings for each other. But several hurdles come between them that test their love for one another.

Shall We Dance - Apple TV

The 2004 film, Shall We Dance, features a star-studded ensemble of JLo, Richard Gere, and Susan Sarandon. The plot revolves around Gere’s character, a lawyer named John Clark, who seeks a spark in his happy yet monotonous life as a husband and a father. He impulsively signs up for dancing lessons in the hope of meeting the beautiful woman he always glimpses on his way back from work. He soon realises that he is passionate about dancing, but it haunts him whether his passion for dancing will cost him his marriage and law career? JLo essays the role of Gere’s dancing partner while Hollywood stalwart Susan Sarandon plays the role of his wife.

Second Act - Amazon Prime video

The Second Act is a romantic comedy starring JLo in the lead as a middle-aged woman who tries to revive her career by creating a fake resume with help of her Godson, who happens to be a skilled programmer. She takes these extreme measures as she feels disrespected by her former employers despite giving 15 years of service in which she was instrumental in the company’s growth. Milo Ventimiglia essays the role of her boyfriend, while Vanessa Hudgens plays the role of her young rival and the daughter of her new boss at a large firm.
