‘Job nahi role badla hai’: Manoj Bajpayee joins Netflix and Amazon Prime Video’s Twitter banter

Manoj Bajpayee has been the talk of the town since ever since the release of The Family Man 2. The Amazon Prime Video original has been quite well received by the audiences and the critics alike. Now his upcoming anthology on Netflix titled Ray has also started grabbing a lot of eyeballs.

The OTT giant is celebrating one of the greatest storytellers of all time - Satyajit Ray. On Tuesday, the streamer dropped a trailer video of Ray, which is scheduled to release on June 25. Soon after the trailer release, Netflix welcomed Bajpayee with an announcement on Twitter and wrote, “@BajpayeeManoj coming to a Netflix series! We love that you're a part of this family, man #Ray.”

Amazon Prime Video commented on the same post and said, “Srikant, job badalne mein bada drastic change hua hoga na?” The quote actually referred to one of the original dialogues from The Family Man 2. Later, the actor replied, “Hahahahaha, that’s top class banter !! Job nahi role badla hai !!!”

Meanwhile, Ray is an anthology of four short stories from celebrated auteur and writer Satyajit Ray that are adapted for the screen in this series.

Created by Sayantan Mukherjee, the anthology features Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, Kay Kay Menon and Harshvarrdhan Kapoor in pivotal roles, while Shweta Basu Prasad, Anindita Bose, Bidita Bag, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Radhika Madan, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor can be seen in significant roles.
