Tehran is directed by Arun Gopalan, written by Ritesh Shah and Ashish Prakash Verma, and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Shobhna Yadav, and Sandeep Leyzell. It is a Maddock Films in cooperation with Bake My Cake Films production.

Earlier, during an interaction with a daily, John had spoken about Tehran. He had shared that in Iran, he would start filming the movie in June. The director is conducting reconnaissance outside as they get ready to go. He will also do the Ek Villain Returns dub before resuming the Pathaan filming, which lasts through April. He then completes all of his prior commitments until May, when he begins shooting the movie.

When pressed for more information about what his upcoming geopolitical thriller promises to bring, he explained that it has a strong plot and would be captivating for readers who are interested in learning more about the Russian-Ukrainian War.

The actor shared that Tehran is about all of this if one is interested in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, wonders what China is doing, what Iran is doing, or where Palestine fits into this whole mess. It's a beautiful movie.

Meanwhile, John is gearing up for the release of Ek Villain Returns, directed by Mohit Suri. The film also stars Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. The thriller film hits the big screens on July 29, 2022.
