In an interview with a media outlet, Malayalam actor Joju George made unexpected statements regarding Churuli, which directed by Lijo Jose Pelliserry. The Pani actor stated that he was previously told that the profane version of the movie would only be shown at film festivals, thus he was unaware that it was being shown to the public.
The actor, who most recently starred in Suriya'a Retro and Kamal Hassan's Thug Life, said he worked in Churuli for no pay. However, since he was assured that the offensive version would only be used at film festivals, they ought to have warned him about the usage of the this variation that was being shown to the public. Joju continued by saying that he openly shared his concerns with the producers about putting this version on big screens. He went on to say that spectators had an adverse reaction to the movie as a result, and he received criticism for his role, especially from his hometown.
Important characters in the sci-fi mystery thriller are played by Vinay Forrt, Chemban Vinod Jose, Joju George, Jaffer Idukki, Soubin Shahir and Sajin Gopu. Churuli received conflicting reactions during its IFFK screening, in contrast to Lijo Jose Pellissery's prior films. Churuli is a spiral maze, where you lose control once you enter, Lijo stated when discussing the film in an online session during the film festival. However, the movie also raises existential issues similar to those found in religious literature. The film follows two police officers as they journey into hazardous and mysterious areas in search of a criminal.
Churuli may not cater to everyone's taste, but it is notable for its execution and elegance, according to OTTplay's review. The movie's title is frequently brought up to the audience through story. S Hareesh wrote the screenplay for the movie. The film's camera was turned by renowned cinematographer Madhu Neelakanthan.
